Saint Jack was a Hollywood film made in 1,979, adapted from an eponymous novel by Paul Theroux. It was shot entirely on location in Singapore. It was banned locally from 1,980 to 2,006 for portraying Singapore as a hotbed of prostitution and for its nude scenes. It tells the story of Jack Flowers, a pimp in Singapore who tries to make money by setting up his own whorehouse and clashes with Chinese triad members in the process.
The movie contains 2 transgender scenes - one of the hustle and bustle of Bugis Street in the 1,970s, complete with a dazzling trans woman in a white Afro and another in a brothel in Telok Kurau where 2 post-operative male-to-female transsexuals perform a dance completely nude.
